A Night with the Aussies!

Ambassador Dennis Richardson has hosted three “Friday Night Dinners” (during 2008-2009) for the injured service members from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center during his appointment as Ambassador of Australia to the United States.

The U.S. service members enjoyed the camaraderie of the Australian service members, embassy staff and especially Ambassador Richardson and his lovely wife, Betty.

They were treated to Australian cuisine, including the fabulous and delicious dessert…Pavlova…famous barbeque meats and vegemite!

Ambassador Richardson had arranged for a music program by an Aborigine using the Didgeridoo which is the unique and ancient instrument of the Australian Aborigine.

Several service members try on the Australian “slouch” hat which they received as door prizes.

Emmer Zapanta is a winner!
